Ok, i’ve mentioned the rising gas prices…we are so used to cheap gas in the States, if you get:
20 miles to the gallon, and it is 5 miles there and 5 back, that’s 10 miles, well, if a gallon costs $8.00 then you are paying $4.00 to go there.
Now multiply this by what you drive to work each day…and we are talking about a mini-van fuel efficiency (20mpg approx).
Think about this, because others are thinking about it, and preparing for what could be the largest economic downturn in many decades. I would love to be optimistic, and I will be positively pragmatic, or positively pessimestic, but i’m not going to soft pedal what’s happening out there right now. CYA. That’s right, and if you don’t understand what that means, then you have to dive in a little deeper and get some street smarts to survive.

Now, this article is about Europe’s gas prices. Try to read it. This is actual news happening today. Don’t go out like a chicken with it’s head cut off when you read it. BUT, understand that we are sitting on a very fat balloon that is ready to be popped anytime they decide to stick the pin.
I’m not trying to promote panic, i’m trying to promote self preservation. You have to start looking at what you are spending, you have to tighten your budget, if i could say “spend, spend, spend”, i would love to do that, but i don’t think this is that time.
Don’t string yourself out on credit. You need credit, but only moderatly. If you have money, i’ve seen many people with bucks, some small, some rather large, tumble down, and it doesn’t take alot to do it.
The rest of us little people need to look to our families and to our selves and ask some honest questions about how we spend, and if we could survive if gas prices exceeded $8.00 per gallon. What effect do you think this would have on the world?
A little more math, and don’t think that what we use to drive to work each day is anything compared to the truck drivers that thankfully, bring us our food and supplies to the stores each day, they spend alot more,
BUT, let’s look at 10 miles a day.
that’s 200 working day miles a month right? then at $4.00 per gallon, that’s $80.00 in gas. NOW double that figure: $160.00. That’s $80.00 that you used to spend on going out to the restaurant, buying steak, seeing a movie, or buying extra socks. That could go higher, and from the looks of it, it may.
Save, remove extra debt, and start smelling the flowers and looking at the good things in life, not about shopping, not about things, but about good things that are meaningful.
Just another video on the state of things, again, it’s not about panic, it’s about thinking differently, starting a new and better lifestyle.
